Christmas Special

Garden in Progress

Over Christmas we managed to finally get some real garden work done:

Getting rid of all the dandelions with their gigantic roots!

Measuring out the path -

- filling in the redwood mulch...

....completed!

Clearing the area for the table (to come).

And the last fill in...

DONE!!

Carnations

These carnations have had a hard life - the constant wind and storms are blowing them over - they still flower though:)

I hope they go ok

This is my best pea:) The others are ok but this is the best one - healthy green and growing ok I think...

Bean a while...

My borlotti's are starting to flower:D Awesome.

I love the herb spiral:D

This herb snail goes from strength to strength I love it!
Check them out - they grow every day!
The coriander is really starting to come on - so is the dill
I thought basil was hard to grow^^

Mysterious intruders

These guys are growing under my fence from the next door neighbours house. I haven't ripped them out because they have such nice flowers. I'm sure they are weeds, but at least they are pretty ones^^

Scarlet runners

They are growing all the time but I think I have to do something about those spots down below. If it stopped raining here I think that would help a lot!

Go fellas!

Peas is a row:)

How many figs can you see?

I love this tree - I better get a good jam recipe:)

Whoa!

The one good radish has almost doubled in size this week

Herb update

The spiral goes from strength to strength:)
Mint, parsley going crazy
 Check out that sage!
Chervil, dill & coriander coming on well:)

Teeny tiny

There's a rather small lime tree under the mulberry tree. I didn't think it would do much but you never know. Check out the tiny limes starting to form here:)

More saved plants

When we moved in here Jani saved these - they were in a bad way but they seem quite healthy now:)

1 out of 5

I have one radish that is going gangbusters! I think the slugs have kiboshed the rest unfortunately.

Not blurry!

Finally a pic of my peas that I didn't manage to make blurry:D

Rethinking

After getting some very good advice about overcrowding I moved the marjoram that I transplanted yesterday from here...
...to here... behind the chamomile, and I still have room to plant some chives:)

Bad building day :(

I had plans to build another garden bed and get some much needed weeding done but a big storm came over and that was that ><
I did however work away in the garage and cut all the timber I need to build it. This will have to wait for a nicer day but at least the prep work is done:)

This really came out:)

So pretty - I like these a lot:)

Recycling^^

I cleaned out under the mulberry tree and made a space for the worm farm & the compost bin:)
That should give them something to munch on:)

Freebies!

I got these for free - they didn't look so good when I first got them but some regular water and these lettuce are looking very edible^^
So is this spinach & chard:)

Peas

They grew a bit in the last day

Bean update...

 Borlotti's grow up...
And so do the scarlet runners:D
